The beloved Virtuoso grinder has been replaced by Virtuoso+. The Virtuoso+ adds a 40-second digital timer, adjustable to the tenth of a second, and keeps everything else that has made the Virtuoso so popular. The adjustable timer lets you easily set up repeatable dose, so you get your preferred output every time.
Manufactured in Europe, the Virtuoso’s 40 mm conical burrs grind coffee at 1.5 to 2.4 grams per second, depending on the setting. These burrs produce a very uniform grind, with a distinct lack of fines across the Virtuoso's grinding range. So the Virtuoso is exceptional for espresso, drip, manual brewing methods and Press Pot. Adjustment is quick and simple; turn the hopper and choose any of the 40 settings, from fine for espresso to coarse for French Press. The grind range is from 200 to 1200 microns. An innovative burr calibration system ensures that each grinder has the full range of grind and, if necessary, the Virtuoso can be re-calibrated at home.
A powerful, high torque DC motor effortlessly drives the burrs. This motor turns slowly resulting in cool, quiet operation and permits long grinding duty-cycles. The circuitry is equipped with an automatically resetting thermal cutoff switch should temperatures somehow rise. The Virtuoso employs a combination of mechanical and electronic speed reduction to control the rotation of the burr to 500 RPM. This slow speed reduces heat, noise, and static generation in the grinder. It also ensures that the beans feed smoothly into the burrs.
The Virtuoso has a 60-second timer with segmented graphics, for easily repeatable grind times. The burrs are easily removable with no tools, making cleaning a snap. The bean hopper holds up to 8 ozs. and the grounds bin has a capacity of 5 ozs. The Virtuoso measures 4.75" wide, 6.25" deep and 13.75" tall. It weighs 8 lbs.
