Even if you have an outdoor table, with collars for an umbrella, an umbrella stand is still essential for safety. Think of the stand as an anchor for your umbrella wihen the wind comes up; finding your broken umbrella in the neighbor's yard is really no fun. Our square umbrella stand is made of heavy, painted steel and takes up minimal space under a table. It features a 1.5"-dia. stem, and is the right weight to support our 7.5-ft. diameter umbrellas. In addition, the stem comes in two parts; use both parts with a free-standing umbrella, remove the upper section for use under a table. The 35-lb. stand measures 18" x 18". We recommend it for use with out 7.5' diameter umbrellas; for the larger 9' umbrellas, and the 8' x 10' rectangular umbrellas, the 50-lb. Classic base offers more stability.
