Smithey cookware is made in Charleston S.C. by a team of designers, engineeers,foodies, foundrymen, metal grinders, craftsmen, and seasoners. Surface smoothness, weight, wall angles, handles, and pour-spout dimensions have all been taken into careful consideration and optimized for each piece. A genuine “farmhouse” skillet, inspired by American blacksmith design of the 18th and 19th century, the Smithey 12” carbon-steel skillet is as much of a work of art as it is a cooking tool. Limited in nature and forged by hand, each Farmhouse skillet is crafted from U.S.-scourced steel by an artisan blacksmith in Charleston. And, each piece is visually unique while sharing core design features such as a handle inspired by traditional fire tools and the signature Smithey 3-holed helper handle. It's compatible with stovetops of all kinds, even on a grill or over a fire. LIghter in weight than cast-iron, the Smithey Farmhouse skillet needs only an occasional light sheen of oil to keep in top condition.
