If gripping and twisting a conventional pepper grinder is painful, here's a grinder for you from Kuhn Rikon. Simply moving the ratchet handle back and forth easily grinds peppercorns and other whole spices, with the aid of a ceramic grinding mechanism. Since the mechanism is ceramic, you can also grind sea salt without fear of corrosion. Grinding salt also removes the flavors of spices, so your next grind tastes like it should. This ratchet grinder has two settings for fine or coarse grind, easily selectable with a knob on the bottom, and an easy-to-open door for filling. The attached jar at the bottom catches grinds to minimize mess and comes with a lid for storage. 10" tall, 3" in diameter.
