Try a fun and engaging raclette dinner with this beautiful, non-stick raclette grill. Raclette originated in parts of Switzerland and the Savoy region of France. Raclette cheese is heated, then scraped onto diners' plates; the term raclette derives from the French verb racler, meaning "to scrape". Traditionally, it is accompanied by small firm potatoes, gherkins, pickled onions, and dried meat. Mentions of raclette date back to medieval times, but a modern raclette dinner involves an electric table-top grill with a heating element that melts cheese below, and cooks meat and vegetables on the elevated non-stick top. It includes small pans, known as coupelles, for heating the raclette cheese. The cheese is brought to the table sliced, accompanied by platters of boiled or steamed potatoes, other vegetables and charcuterie. These are then mixed with potatoes and topped with cheese in the small, wedge-shaped coupelles, then placed under the grill to melt and brown the cheese.

The Matterhorn electric raclette grill will do all that, plus the non-stick aluminum reversible grill/griddle top is excellent for grilling meats and veggies, with the smooth side ideal for cooking sandwiches, eggs, bacon, pancakes, and dessert crepes. The grill features a variable heat control and a 1450-watt heating element for quick response. The Matterhorn raclette grill features and elegant wood-finish base, and includes 8 heat-resistant spatulas and 8 coupelles, or raclette dishes. The reversible, non-stick aluminum, grill/griddle top lifts off for easy cleaning and measures 15.7" x 12.5". Complete with instructions and recipes, 1-year warranty.
