This 15"-diameter pan features a rimless design for edge-to-edge baking, ideal for 14" pies. It's made of cast iron that's pre-seasoned with natural vegetable oil, and of course it will never dent, bend or warp. The naturally rough surface of cast iron will allow moisture in the pizza dough to evaporate, turning out perfect crispy crusts. The raised handles give you a safe, secure grip even with potholders or oven mitts. Use this pan in the oven or on the grill; not intended for stovetop use. 19.25" wide through the handles. For over 100 years, Lodge has been making the cast iron cookware that our parents, grandparents and even our great-grandparents have used. Cooking with cast iron has plenty of benefits: it heats evenly, retains heat and is very affordable. The only minor drawback to using cast iron was that it needed to be seasoned before you can use it. But not any more! Lodge cast-iron cookware is ready to use the moment you bring it home. Each piece of Lodge cookware and bakeware is electostatically sprayed with a proprietary vegetable oil. The cookware is then placed into a hot gas oven, baking the oil into the pan and seasoning it. Of course, Lodge pans still need to be treated like the cast iron they are. That means that you'll still need to oil the pan before you cook on it. You won't need to use soap to clean it, just a bit of hot water and a stiff brush will do the trick. You'll want to dry your pan immediately so that it doesn't rust. But with the proper care, your Lodge cookware will be around for generations to come.
