Okay, this is news. Cuisinart, who already makes the finest food processors in the world, has come out with a brilliant new design. This doesn't happen often, because Cuisinart food processors are so good, they're hard to improve. But, the new food processors, the Elite series, are indeed much better, more versatile, more convenient, and more powerful than ever before, That alone is great news. But, get this, the new Cuisinart food processors are the same price as the machines they replace.

There are so many improvements, it's hard to know where to start, but first of all, the bowl. Or in the case of the Elite series, the bowls. The Elite 12-cup is both a 12-cup and a 4-cup food processor. In the picture above, you can see the 4-cup bowl that nests inside the larger bowl. With Cuisinart's patent-pending sealing system, all the bowls are completely sealed against spills. Use a smaller bowl for chopping, blending, shredding, slicing, etc. and the larger bowls stay clean, no matter how full the smaller bowls get, even with liquids in them. This gives you a smaller food processor for those smaller jobs without a big mess to clean up. Plus, all the bowls have pour spouts and measurement markings, a real improvement if you've poured from food processor bowls before..

Next, the blades. The razor-sharp slicing disk, unlike all other food processors, including previous Cuisinart food processors, is adjustable. This means you're not stuck with a single thickness or forced to purchase multiple disks. A simple, rotary adjustment knob gives you your choice of 4 thicknesses. Not only that, the shredding disk, the one you use for cheese, is reversable, for fine shredding on one side, coarse shredding on the other. The disks, along with the stainless chopping blades (two) and the plastic dough blade feature a new, push-button locking mechanism. This locking feature ensures that you can tip and empty any of the bowls without the blade falling out into your food, a huge step forward in design.

The new motor features 1000 watts of peak power, more than enough to handle anything you can throw at it. This motor is so good, Cuisinart backs it with a warranty of 10 years on the 12-cup, with three years on the rest of the machine. Along with all the improvements, you get the Cuisinart Supreme feed tube, the largest in the business, easy and safe to use and the sealed, electronic touch-pad controls, including a pulse button.

If you've been thinking about getting a food processor, or replacing your current machine, now's the time to get the food processor that far outpaces anything else around.
