The latest iteration of the Breville Juice Fountain adds the word "Cold" to its name. Not because the juice is actually chilled, but because Juice Fountain Cold adds only minimal heat during the juicing process. In fact, according to an evaluation conducted by the Australian government (Breville is an Australian company), the Juice Fountain Cold increased the temperature of juice by less than 1.8 degrees F. That's the same amount of heat added by cold-press, masticating juicers. Of course, a we all know, the less heat, the more nutrients retained in the juice.
The Juice Fountain Cold is a centrifugal, shredding juicer that runs at either 8,500 or 13,000 rpm, and features a patent-pending system that allows the juice to be dispensed higher up on the machine. This means the Juice Fountain Cold can produce up to 2 liters of juice at a time, directly into the pitcher. A detachable spout lets you juice directly into a glass, as well. The pitcher seals tight, so juice can stay fresh in the fridge for at least three days. The pulp container holds up to 3.6 qts. before it needs emptying. The 3"-wide feed tube minimizes the need to chop up fruits and vegetables before juicing, speeding juicing time considerably. 1-year limited warranty.
